Educational Opportunities
Sunday School - All ages
Sundays, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Following divine worship each Sunday, Mount Olive provides opportunities for members and guests of all ages to study God’s Word. Sunday School classes, using the exciting Growing with Christ curriculum from Concordia Publishing House, are available for Pre-K through grade 8. Sandra Ostapowich, our Christian Education and Youth Director teaches the senior youth class (grades 9-12), and Pastor Hein teaches adult class.
Pre-Confirmation Class - Youth in grades 6-7,
Come and learn the basics of the Biblical history in preparation for confirmation in 8th grade. Mrs. Janelle Flanscha teaches this class on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:15 p.m.
Confirmation Class - Youth in grade 8
Study Luther's Small Catechism with Pastor Hein in preparation for Confirmation and your first communion.
Lutheran Beliefs Class - New/prospective members, refresher for any adults
This in-depth study is ideal for those who are new to Mount Olive, for those new to Lutheranism, and for long-time Lutherans who would like to review the things they haven’t studied since confirmation. Come and strengthen your own faith by learning what makes Lutherans unique, and become equipped to tell your friends and family about the salvation that is free for them too in Christ Jesus. Ladies' Bible Study- Women of all ages
Mondays, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Resuming January 21 when we will begin exploring the topic of prayer. Join us in the new year for a close look at the text of Scripture, studying the Catechism, great discussions, and wonderful fellowship with one another as we grow in faith and understanding together. Senior Youth Bible Study - High school and college-age youth
Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Youth Group meets weekly all year round on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and are currently studying the Augsburg Confession. Confirmed youth from grades 9-12 and beyond are invited to attend and bring friends.
